  69.            Text editors can be a real drag.  It seems to be the one
  70.            area left in today's world of graphics and colors where
  71.            some folks think it's just fine to have to remember that
  72.            CTRL-SHIFT-P is page down or somesuch.

  100.            years of freely-distributable Textra programs... 15 
  101.            ever-improving versions of the Easy-to-use, GUI-based 
  102.            Amiga Text Editor.  From the many comments and number of 
  103.            registrations, I gather many of you have.

  105.            First, *very* sincere thanks to all of you folks who have 
  106.            registered.  Textra costs less than most games and some of 
  107.            you have said I should charge more!! *blush*
  108.            
  109.            Really, some of you have said some VERY nice things about 
  110.            Textra; this is the real payback...

  146.       Launch the "Textra Installer" icon and it will prompt you through 
  147.       the installation of Textra and its support files.
  148.

  150.       |NOTE: If you  do not have the  CBM Installer program,  open the| 
  151.       |      scripts drawer and  DRAG THE "Install_Textra" ICON UP ONE| 
  152.       |      LEVEL (to the same level as Textra) and launch that. This| 
  153.       |      is my own installer program which does the same steps.   |

  156.       Floppy users...

  158.          If you are short on space on your 'rexx:' volume, you
  159.          can temporarily assign rexx: to the scripts drawer of
  160.          this package.  Eventually you may choose a preferred
  161.          subset of the provided scripts for storage on your
  162.          rexx: volume.
  163.          
  164.          If running 2.0 or later (and who isn't?), you can add
  165.          the scripts drawer of this package to your: assign path
  166.          for "rexx:".   Assuming this package is at the root of
  167.          df0:...
  168.          
  169.               assign rexx: df0:scripts add
  170.       
  171.       Once REXX: contains the scripts, an interactive tutorial is 
  172.       provided to introduce new users to this friendly but powerful 
  173.       editor...

  177.    Launching the Tutorial
  178.    
  179.       After the Textra ARexx scripts have been installed into your
  180.       'rexx:' directory, launch the Tutorial ARexx script as follows...
  181.       
  182.          (If Textra is already running, start with step 3)
  183.       
  184.          1. Launch Textra by double-clicking on its icon.
  185.          
  186.          2. In the file-requester that appears, press CANCEL
  187.          
  188.          3. Pull down the "Utilities, ARexx..." menu item.
  189.          
  190.          4. In any ARexx string gadget, enter:
  191.          
  192.                Tutorial
  193.             
  194.             (if not already in one) followed by RETURN.  The tutorial
  195.             will soon greet you.
